Postpartum Progress Series: Appreciation!

Over the past year and a half I have been incredibly blessed to be a part of an amazing online support network of 7 women who had one thing in common: having suffered a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder, recovering and then choosing to have more children.  None of us made this decision without much thought and planning.  Each of us has a unique story, yet has so many ways in which we can relate and empathize with one another.

This experience touched and buoyed each of us so much that we felt it would be a shame not to share, in the hopes that our openness and honesty might help someone else.

Last week, Katherine Stone featured our story, in a series of five blog posts, at Postpartum Progress.  Based upon the comments and the increase in in already busy traffic at Postpartum Progress, we think it might have reached and touched many of you.  We thank Katherine and all of you for being willing to read and respond.

Below are the links to all five of the posts of the Series:
DAY ONE: Meet the Mamas

DAY TWO: Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment

DAY THREE: Our Husbands then and our "PPD Babies" Now
(This is where you get to see the photos of the amazing Mamas and their beautiful children now.)

DAY FOUR: What Happened After the Next Baby

DAY FIVE: How it Worked: Supporting One Another- A Real Conversation

Here are the links to the blog posts I wrote right after having L2, regarding my postpartum plan, which I consider to have been quite successful in terms of minimizing/preventing PPD this time.  I hope that they will prove helpful if you are in a position of considering having more children after PPD or are expecting another child.  Of course, each person and illness are unique, so what worked for me may not work for you, but perhaps my plan will be a way for you to begin considering what will.
